Bourbon Eggnog

Eggnog is a vacation practice in both the Usa and Canada. Typically made with eggs, sugar, spices and often a base alcoholic spirit (commonly rum or brandy), the cocktail origins of eggnog can be traced right back to Teacher Jerry Thomas and his recipes. I like to utilize a pretty good spicy bourbon in my personal eggnog dish as the tastes of the bourbon match well with the flavors to develop an interesting dimension of flavor. This dish is incredibly simple to make, tasty and a fantastic method to excite family and friends this holiday. It will yield 8 4 oz portions, if you wish additional just double or even three-way the recipe.

Active ingredients:

Preparation:

  1. In a mixer fitted with a whip accessory or a blender or food processor, blend the eggs for 1 minute.
  2. Sugarcoat and flavors and mix for an extra 30 seconds to incorporate.
  3. Gradually add the cognac, bourbon and Grand Marnier, blend another 30 secs.
  4. Include the milk and cream and blend 1 min more. Cover and refrigerate.

This recipe is much better made a day ahead to permit the tastes to incorporate.

To offer, section 4 oz of eggnog in a sparkling wine flute or teacup, grate fresh nutmeg or cinnamon over the top (optional) and offer.
